Professional Yacht Deliveries, providing yacht delivery and yacht management world wide. We will deliver yachts of all sizes as well as super yachts to any port globally.

Crew

pyd is the largest and most respected provider of yacht delivery services in Europe and we have several hundred crew berths every year on a very wide variety of boats.

Our success has been built on the exceptional standards of our skippers and crew and we are committed to ensuring that those standards are maintained.

As a consequence our pool of over thirty skippers consists of some of the most prominent and experienced individuals in the industry, all of whom have become members of our group only after the most rigorous 'on passage' selection process.

Every one of our boats on delivery is crewed by one of these group skippers, supported by a Yachtmaster qualified Mate and at least one deckhand.

Mates are qualified to skipper, but require additional experience in order to reach our professional standards and take independent command of their own vessel.

Deck crew must be capable of competently standing a solo watch at night and are generally qualified to at least Day Skipper level.

Crew are continuously supported whilst at sea by a dedicated and experienced management team, who between them have spent almost 350000nm at sea all over the World.

Standards are high, but crewing with pyd at any level is a rewarding experience. There is no registration fee and if you think you have the required skills and are interested in sailing with pyd please complete this form, which will go to Jan Younger our crew co-ordinator.

Skipper Apprentice Scheme

At pyd we have for some while been concerned at the gap between the experience of a typical new Yachtmaster graduate and the required standards in the professional world.

As a result in 2005 we introduced a programme for recently qualified Yachtmasters in which over six months they would complete a structured and thoroughly assessed 10000nm of sailing Worldwide, predominantly as mate to an experienced pyd skipper.

Results from this scheme have been extremely encouraging and we plan to offer ten such placements annually for the foreseeable future. The cost to participants is limited to a fixed contribution towards administration and travel expenditure. Naturally competition for these limited places is considerable, but with the combination of intensive and varied experience gained, coupled with ongoing assessment, a reference and a completion certificate, they represent an unrivalled opportunity for progressing in the industry. If you are committed to developing your career and interested in participating please email jan Younger, who is managing the scheme.
